FINANCIAL DATA ANALYST (WORKING TITLE) - 43005158
The State of Florida is seeking a Financial Data Analyst to join their Financial Services Agency. The role involves reviewing and reconciling financial information for local governments and school districts, auditing complex financial documentation, and designing statistical reports.

Responsibilities
Reviews and reconciles local government and school district financial information, including budget documents, budget books, local resolutions and financial reports
Audits and analyzes complex financial documentation to produce reports that clarify historical trends in local government and school district financial conditions including, but not limited to, increases in tax collections, budgeted amounts for different funds, revenue and expenditure data and cash reserves
Designs and develops various statistical reports for the Department, performs analysis of data, and communicates the results to management
Performs management studies of local governments, programs, and processes, completes assigned special projects, and communicates the results to management
Conducts and/or completes and reports on special projects assigned by management
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of accounting principles
Ability to analyze financial data and other sets of complex data
Ability to analyze government budget data and policy/programmatic papers
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in accounting, statistics, data science, or a related field is preferred
Four (4) years of experience in a related area can substitute for the preferred degree
Knowledge of government budgeting, accounting, or financial reporting
