HR Intern
American College of Chest Physicians is looking for motivated and talented individuals to join their internship program for Summer 2026. The HR Intern will work closely with the Human Resources team, learning about managing day-to-day people operations activities including benefits, recruitment, and HRIS management.

Responsibilities
Act as internship cohort leader – Ensure that interns take advantage of all engagement and enrichment opportunities and have all necessary support regarding final presentations
Assist with recruiting, benefits, people analytics as needed
Learn about collaborative relationships that HR has with adjacent departments such as legal, finance and IT
Utilize HR resources such as webinars and industry-specific reference texts to build specific skills, reporting back to team on key takeaways
Assist HR team in researching trends (market analysis, policy/compliance, recognition, benefits, etc.)
Assist in filing paper files/clean up (personnel/benefit files, I9s, term files, etc.)
Work within HRIS to streamline data/clear out checklists/old learning, etc
Participate in onboarding new employees
Proofread HR documents
Support all other projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major in HR, English, Communications or related field
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong relationship building skills
Empathy and tact, ability to interact thoughtfully with employees at all levels
Technical aptitude
Eagerness to learn
