Responsibilities
Managing, developing and implementing Alaska Regional’s Stroke Program
Collaborating with nursing leadership and the Education Department to develop and implement staff education
Making regular rounds on stroke patients to evaluate the treatment plan and nursing interventions
Facilitating interventions to meet patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs
Coordinating functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships
Serving as role model, mentor, educator, and evaluator regarding stroke patient care for the staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a program within 12 months
Current Alaska Registered Nurse License
A minimum of two years of direct acute care nursing experience in a hospital
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
