New Grad, Entry LevelAstrix is seeking an Assistant Scientist to join their Technical Services team, focusing on developing enzyme-based applications for food products. The role involves hands-on laboratory experimentation, product development, and collaboration with various stakeholders to bring innovative solutions to market.

Responsibilities
Perform bench-scale experimental work under supervisor direction (≈75% lab-based)
Support development of new enzyme-based food applications and blended products from concept through commercialization
Assist with pilot plant trials at internal, customer, or external facilities
Prepare and present experimental data for internal use, customer support, and promotional materials (e.g., webinars)
Provide technical support to Sales and customers, including product and process optimization
Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and reports; submit call and monthly activity reports
Ensure laboratory equipment upkeep, preventative maintenance, and safety compliance
Follow GMP, SQF, 5S, and food safety requirements; report any food safety concerns
Collaborate with external R&D groups, universities, and research institutes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or related discipline
Preferred
Instrumental analysis experience (GC, HPLC, spectrophotometer)
Dairy protein knowledge is a plus
Strong organizational, communication, and scientific reasoning skills
New graduates welcome; prior industry experience not required
