VP Strategic Sourcing

They are seeking a VP of Strategic Sourcing responsible for managing a national GPO contract portfolio worth approximately $10 billion, establishing strategic direction, and enhancing operational and financial performance while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Oversees the development and execution of contracting strategies, ensuring that strategies:
Meet the clinical, operational, and financial objectives of HealthTrust members
Support HealthTrust environmental sustainability and supplier engagement efforts
Meet the strategic objectives of the HealthTrust business
Align with the HealthTrust committed model
Oversees the negotiation and finalization of contracts, ensuring that:
Contract terms and conditions are held to the highest standard
Follow all policies and procedures
Ensures that the contract portfolio: has an appropriate breadth of category coverage, remains competitive and market leading, supports the unique needs of all care class of trades, is appropriately maintained throughout term of agreement
Meets and exceeds annual goals, including but not limited to: savings, category expansion, operational/productivity, and ensuring portfolio remains competitive
Develop and maintain supplier executive relationships
Understand supplier key initiatives, objectives and partner with contracted suppliers to deliver on HealthTrust commitments
Ensure supplier partners are held accountable
Develop and maintain member relationships. Champion members interests, including but not limited to:
Understanding member key initiatives and how those integrate or impact GPO contracting initiatives
Understanding member needs and deliver a portfolio that meets needs
Collaborate with members on Supply Chain Board and Advisory Boards and work with members to align boards with contracting workplan/strategies
Resolving member issues with suppliers and/or our contract portfolio
Collaborate with Members, Account Management, Clinical Operations, and Supply Chain Board Operations to ensure we are gaining member alignment on contracting strategies and awards
Collaborate and execute on opportunities with Global Sourcing and Private Label
Collaborate and support HealthTrust GPO in the United Kingdom
Manage a fast-paced work environment that demands strong capabilities to drive projects and initiatives without much guidance and deliver them to completion
Lead critical conversations on confidential information to gain alignment and assess root cause of both member and supplier issues
Supporting and in some cases leading HealthTrust strategic initiatives across the organization
Ensure self and team adhere to policies and procedures and operate at the highest ethical standard
Ensure a culture where everyone feels heard, seen and valued, positivity, trust,, and innovation
Ensure contracting work plan (project) timelines are appropriately managed
Hold team accountable to project plans
Minimize contract extensions
Ensure team is prepared for functional team meetings, dry runs, and board meetings
Ensure a customer-focused team environment
Establishes clear, measurable goals that align team’s efforts with the organization’s vision/mission
Participate in key industry events and stay educated on industry news, issues and opportunities
Utilize global sourcing team for market research / information
Ensure team is highly collaborative with the “functional team” of sourcing, clinical, finance, legal and other key parts of the organizations
Create processes and decisions that make effective use of organizational resources and enhance operational efficiency
Evaluate supplier product pipelines and emerging technologies to determine impact on members and opportunity for category expansion
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
At least 15 years' experience in sourcing/contracting and at least 10 years effectively manage teams
Healthcare and/or GPO experience strongly preferred
