Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership for analytic teams responsible for development and maintenance of analytic assets within the assigned domain
Translate analytic strategies and organizational priorities into structured work plans, deliverables, and performance measures
Direct the design, development, and automation of reports, dashboards, and analytic models using SQL and Python in a server-based analytics environment
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and standardization across all analytic products within the domain
Partner with other domain analytic leaders to ensure alignment of metrics, definitions, and methodologies
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve data quality, availability, and usability for analytics
Lead analytic intake and prioritization processes to balance recurring operational needs with emerging enterprise priorities
Mentor and develop staff, building technical and problem-solving skills within the team
Summarize and communicate analytic findings in clear, actionable terms to leaders and cross-functional partners
Support the development of dashboards and reporting frameworks for executive, compliance, or regulatory reporting
Manage staff, and the day-to-day activities in the department. Participate in the department budgeting process. Responsible for scheduling, training, performance, corrective actions, mentoring, and developing team(s). Foster a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, accountability, and shared ownership of enterprise goals
Manage complex projects, engaging and updating key stakeholders, developing timelines, leads others to complete deliverables on time and ensures implementation upon approval
Provide quality assurance across projects, ensuring work products meet enterprise analytic standards
Responsible for budgeting, and policy implementation
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree
At least 7 years of experience in analytics
At least 5 years of experience in leading, supervisory, and/or managing staff
Experience leading teams, projects, initiatives, or cross-functional groups
Demonstrated experience leading teams that develop insights and operational analytic products using SQL and Python in a server-based environment
Experience guiding teams in design and delivery of reports, dashboards, and visual analytics (Tableau or comparable platforms)
Experience in healthcare analytics (claims, quality, risk adjustment, or provider performance)
Experience integrating multiple data sources for operational or performance reporting
Experience guiding teams to design and implement Tableau dashboards and visualizations
Experience with Medicare Advantage (DSNP), Commercial Exchange, and Medi-Cal Risk Adjustment programs
Experience in identifying, addressing, socializing, and championing efforts to fix issues impacting encounter data completeness, quality, and timeliness
Ability to lead and develop a small analytics team, prioritize workstreams, and manage delivery of concurrent projects
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships, fostering teamwork, and creating a positive work environment
Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, claims processing, utilization management, quality measurement, or provider performance
Strong command of SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
Ability to translate complex business operations into measurable analytic frameworks and KPIs
Strong understanding of KPI frameworks, operational analytics, and analytic storytelling for senior audiences
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional leaders to align analytic logic and data definitions
Ability to maintain data consistency and reproducibility across analytic projects
Ability to synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations
Ability to organize and manage analytic project deliverables and timelines
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate deliverables across function
Ability to mentor staff in technical and business communication skills
Excellent ability to set clear goals, develop strategic plans to achieve those goals, and inspire others to work towards a shared vision
Skilled in mediating disputes and resolving conflicts in a fair and constructive manner
Must have a deep understanding of financial principles
Ability and excellent knowledge in developing and managing budgets, forecasting future financial outcomes, and making informed decisions about resource allocation
Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions
Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Deep understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and organizational operations to identify opportunities and navigate challenges
Strong ability and knowledge to analyze market trends, anticipate future changes, and develop long-term strategies that align with the company's goals
Ability to develop KPIs, dashboards, and reports supporting risk adjustment and encounter integrity
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server Certification
Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification
Other analytics or data-focused certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Python for Data Science certifications)

Preferred

Master's Degree
Experience leading analytic process improvements or standardization initiatives
Experience working with encounters, lab, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and other supplemental (e.g., HL7) data
Advanced knowledge of visualization design and executive scorecard development
Knowledge of statistical and analytical methods for operational insight generation
Awareness of data architecture and pipelines for scalable analytics
Knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)-Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC), Health and Human Services (HHS)-HCC, Chronic Illness and Disability Payment Systems (CDPS) + Medicaid Rx, and Part D Risk adjustment program requirements, and methodologies
Formal Snowflake training (e.g., SnowPro or internal training)
Training in healthcare analytics platforms (e.g., MLTSS, DHCS, HEDIS)
Leadership and team management training for analytics
Training in data governance, reproducibility, and analytic methodology best practices
