Tax Manager
Winland Foods is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee the preparation of the company’s tax provisions and compliance obligations. This role involves working with internal and external resources to manage federal, state, and local tax compliance, while also driving tax strategy and planning initiatives.

Responsibilities
Manages the preparation and review of quarterly and annual U.S. federal, state, and local and international tax provisions and ensure they are in accordance with U.S. GAAP/ASC 740
Leads compliance efforts of all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements
Assists with various aspects of ASC 740 – Accounting for Uncertainties in Income Taxes, including review of tax position memos and FIN 48 requirements
Manages the preparation and review of the U.S. federal tax return including international tax packages and informational reporting requirements
Reviews quarterly federal estimated tax payments
Provides coordination and management of federal tax audits (state and international as necessary)
Assists with transfer pricing analysis and annual documentation requirements from a state a local income tax perspective
Assists with the state tax accounting of business acquisitions and dispositions
Assists with various tax planning and structuring projects
Assists with research and writing internal reports on various topics to support the Company’s tax positions
Identifies critical tax risks, understand business, regulatory, and finance imperatives, and assist in developing and implementing appropriate tax strategies aligned with Company’s objectives
Assists with continuous process improvements and integration of various aspects of the tax function to achieve optimal efficiency, effective controls, and quality
Develops and maintains relationships throughout the finance organization to increase understanding of the business and keep current with transactions and/or other changes/activities that may affect the tax results
Assists with preparation of tax rate forecasts
Supports tax planning initiatives, credits & incentives opportunities, and special projects such as business acquisitions and divestitures and provide analysis of specific tax impacts; Responding to questions from the business, monitoring tax law changes and participating in business process change initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or related field required
Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in a corporate tax department or the tax group of a Big 4, or similar, public accounting firm with prior ASC 740 and federal income tax compliance required
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax laws and regulations
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, perform tax research, and provide actionable recommendations in the context of both direct and indirect taxes
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proficiency in tax software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, Vlookups and creating custom formulas), SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook
Preferred
Master's/Advanced degree in tax preferred
CPA preferred
Experience with SAP, OneSource Tax Provision, BNA Fixed Assets, and Alteryx a plus
Proven ability to lead others preferred
