External Communications Manager
Exelon is leading the energy transformation, and they are seeking a Manager of External Communications. This role is responsible for developing and executing external communications plans, promoting company priorities, and serving as a spokesperson while providing support to key leadership members.

Responsibilities
Ensure effective communication of corporate messages and content on a company-wide basis to employees. (25%)
Direct interface with business unit communications managers to ensure consistency of messaging. (25%)
Develop and coordinate HR communication plans and strategies to support business plans and objectives, as well as Exelon corporate objectives. (15%)
Produce accurate, compelling, and editorially proficient written communications. (10%)
Manage a variety of communication tasks to support leadership, including talking points, short presentations, and online messages. (10%)
Consult and advise HR lead and staff on strategies for communicating HR policies, programs, and benefits. (10%)
Manage vendor/agency relationships in the development of collateral, and the execution of projects. (5%)
Provide strategic counsel and input in developing external communications plans for company priorities, executing advanced media relations skills, and serving as a company spokesperson - 60%
Act as the communications liaison for key company leaders and collaborate with communications counterparts at Exelon’s utilities and priority projects. - 25%
Develop accurate, compelling and editorially proficient written communications, including messaging, talking points, holding statements, scripts, social media content and other materials. - 15%

Qualification
Required
Proven, excellent communications skills - both written and interpersonal
Demonstrated strategic thinking and project management skills
Proven advanced media relations skills, including relationship building, narrative development, and media writing
Experience supporting principals and executive leadership
Preferred
Energy business/industry knowledge
In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience
