The Assistant Design Manager will oversee and manage multiple projects throughout the project life cycle, ensuring quality control and collaboration with design staff and field operations.
Construction
Responsibilities
Import, review and process survey field data
Prepare project base setups for design staff
Perform Quality Control for all 2D Utility Exhibits and 3D Utility Models generated by design staff
Participate in project kickoff & final Quality Control meetings
Assign, oversee, and manage weekly workload to design staff
Manage schedule of final deliverables across multiple projects and deliverables
Works with partners to improve design processes and workflows of Design Department
Collaborate with Field Operations Manager to ensure seamless transition of survey field data to office personnel
Coordinate with Survey teams by providing control data and layout files upon request
Provide constructive feedback to design department in support of QA/QC procedures
Qualification
Required
5 years of substantial drafting & 3D modeling experience
Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects throughout the project life cycle
Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment while meeting project deadlines
Safety Oriented
Background in Civil Engineering Site Design
Background in Land Surveying principles
Strong critical thinking and trouble shooting skills
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
Experience with Trimble Business Center
Experience with Revizto Integrated Collaboration Platform
Solid understanding of the BIM process
Understanding of design and construction of subsurface utility infrastructure
Experience in importing, translating and rotating survey points to project control
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to adapt new tools and technologies to keep project deliverables up to date with continuously evolving industry
Strong written/verbal communication skills with strict attention to detail
Self-motivated
Time Management skills to effectively meet project deadlines
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Preferred
ArcGIS experience
