The University of California, Riverside is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide professional-level financial, budgetary, and administrative support to various departments within the university. The role involves overseeing accounting and fiscal management, conducting budget analysis, and serving as the HR/Payroll Coordinator for staff and student employment.

Responsibilities
Provides professional-level financial, budgetary, and administrative support to the Departments of Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Theatre, Film & Digital Production, and Performing Arts Administration
Oversees the accounting and fiscal management of multiple funding sources, including state, grant, and sales & service funds (e.g., concert ticket revenue)
Conducts detailed budget analysis, prepares meaningful financial reports, provides comprehensive budget information, and supports long-range financial planning for all five departments
Serves as the HR/Payroll Coordinator for staff and student employment across all departments and provides payroll guidance to Academic Coordinators
Supports operational functions of the Performing Arts Administration office, including space and key management
Serves as a resource on University financial and administrative policies, promotes best practices, and provides backup support to team members as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Minimum 2-4 years of experience
Experience working in an institution of higher education
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills
Advanced computer skills: Skill in creating and editing spreadsheets and reports using Word, Excel, or other software applications; skill in exporting/importing data from or to different software applications or data collection and retrieval systems; experience with maintaining simple or moderately complex databases through data entry, data queries, and database design modifications; and experience with Internet search engines for data gathering purposes; skill in working with on-line financial and administrative systems
Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information, organizes, and performs basic financial analysis assignments
Ability to function as a member of a team
Knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports
Preferred
Skill and knowledge of UCR's on-line financial and administrative system such as Looker, UC Path, Concur, Oracle Financials, among others
Knowledge of performing arts and specifically activities related to concert event production, hiring of musicians, and management of concert ticket revenue; work experience in the areas of creative writing, dance, music, and theatre
Knowledge of UC policies and procedures
Supervisory training and experience
