Commercial Relationship Team Lead

Responsibilities
Functions as the sales Team Leader and Commercial Banker for a Commercial banking team in a specified market
As a Team Leader:
Works with the Division and/or Regional President to create strategies business development goals for their market
Manages the performance of Commercial Bankers. Utilizes coaching strategies to motivate team and enhance performance
Consistently evaluates the performance and production of each Commercial Banker. Provides coaching and feedback to develop solution driven strategies to solve problems and answer questions
Conducts regular one-on-one meetings with team members to ensure two-way communication is occurring and that a full understanding of processes, procedures, goals, and expectations is realized
Utilizes expertise and market knowledge to identify profitable prospects, develop business and contribute to the growth of the market and team
Lead team sales meetings and participate in broader sales meetings
Creates a positive and collaborative work environment
Participates in community activities and contributes to the growth of the community while enhancing the visibility of the Bank
As a Commercial Banker:
Actively participates in a business development plan to build and retain full banking relationships with C&I companies
Develop consultative relationships with prospects and clients to add value by delivering appropriate banking solutions
Collaborate effectively with Treasury Management Sales Officers, Capital Markets, Wealth, Mortgage, and Retail
Manage the flow of credit requests through the appropriate channels to ensure the credit quality, responsiveness, structure, and pricing meeting the needs of the client and the operating objectives of the Bank
Underwrite loan requests within the parameters of the Bank’s policies and procedures. Ensure the loan packages are accurate and complete when submitted to the appropriate Credit partner for approval
Manage and service assigned loan portfolio and provide superior service to clients
Create, maintain, and utilize an appropriate COI network relevant to Commercial Banking, which will promote the Bank’s market presence and result in referrals for both the bank and COI
Ensure that all required documentation is in file for all loans and deposits
Clear documentation or compliance deficiencies noted by Loan and Deposit Operations or other review
Partner with Credit to properly risk grade each loan in the assigned portfolio and adjust risk grades as circumstances change or new information becomes available
Price each loan and deposit product according to current Bank pricing guidelines
Document the credit quality, current competitive factors, or overall relationship circumstances that justify departures from the approved Bank pricing regulations
Demonstrate a commitment to fair lending practices
Remain knowledgeable of all laws and regulations governing the lending activities of financial institutions
Ensure compliance with all applicable Bank policies and procedures, as well as all State and Federal regulations
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or related field is required
Formal bank credit training program completion is required
Minimum of 10+ years commercial lending or middle market experience
3-5 years management experience
Experience should include significant loan structuring and credit analysis responsibilities as well as client origination activities
Extensive knowledge of all Bank products, services, procedures, and practices
In-depth knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and Bank policies relating to lending procedures
Must have well-developed sales, interpersonal, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary
Must have accounting and extensive credit skills
Must be detail oriented and possess the proven ability to prioritize complex work assignments
Must exhibit excellent time management skills
Proven analytical skills and the ability to evaluate credit worthiness are needed
Must be proficient in the use of basic office equipment with an emphasis on calculator and computer
Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary
Preferred
Graduation from a recognized school of banking is an asset
Familiarity with the local business community is strongly preferred
