Responsibilities
Work as part of a traffic/transportation team on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis, control, engineering, and design needs for a variety of transportation projects
Project Manager on NCDOT, City of Raleigh, and other state/local municipal projects
Proposal generation and client presentations
Work within a multi discipline engineering environment
Manage and mentor junior engineers and ensure work quality and detail
Prepare traffic safety study reports, intersection and interchange operational analyses using HCS, VISSIM, TRANSMODELER, SYNCHRO, SIMTRAFFIC and other applicable Transportation Engineering Models
Analyze, optimize, and implement traffic system timings along major and local corridors
Perform field/site visits as needed
Write and prepare reports
Present technical findings and project updates to clients and internal management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering
NC Professional Engineer (PE)
8-20 years' experience in traffic engineering and analysis
2-5 years' experience in Project Management on NCDOT and local municipal projects
Detailed hands-on experience using TransModeler
Ability to multitask while working on multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design
Detailed hands-on experience conducting traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, Autocad and Guide Sign software
Detailed hands-on experience conducting operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun
Detailed hands-on experience conducting safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety Software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
