Facility Maintenance Manager I - Central Prison
The N.C. Department of Information Technology is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through various operations. They are seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager I to oversee the management and supervision of staff in building trades and maintenance, ensuring the facility is maintained safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
Overseeing all aspects of management and supervision of staff skilled in building trades and grounds maintenance as well as management of all facility maintenance, utility systems, mechanical systems and minor construction and renovation
Possessing knowledge of general construction plans and specific components within the correctional facility
Making all final technical decision in wide variety of trades, administering work orders, directing the preventative maintenance program, purchasing supplies and material, maintaining stock control of tools and supplies, advising management concerning the technical aspects of the facility
Acting as primary liaison to the designers, contractors, local officials and regularity agencies (technically representing the facility to state construction and other government units.), participating in overall management and policy making for the facility
Working under general administration and limited technical supervision and is responsible for inspecting the facility for maintenance needs and safety hazards
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution AND four (4) years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities
OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND five (5) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F
Documented working knowledge of commercial/industrial maintenance
