NEOGOV is seeking a Field Investigator to join the Department of Corrections. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth reintegration of individuals from community corrections centers into their home communities through thorough investigations and background checks.

Responsibilities

Conducting thorough investigations into furlough cases and performing comprehensive criminal background checks on all individuals sponsoring furloughs
Maintaining detailed case files, drafting written reports, and composing formal correspondence to judges and correctional facilities that includes critical investigative findings
Keeping an accurate logbook and reaching out to various agencies to gather information regarding any potential issues related to the re-entrant's furlough application
Identifying areas of concern and providing valuable insights to colleagues regarding furlough decisions
Reporting any unusual, threatening, or non-compliant behaviors or situations that may arise during investigations

Required

Three years of experience in public contact work, including two years of experience in field investigation or law enforcement work; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
