SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST
USAJOBS is seeking a Supervisory Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist for the Human Systems Engineering Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The role involves providing leadership and systems engineering for fielded systems undergoing modifications and for systems in the acquisition life cycle, as well as mentoring junior personnel.

Responsibilities
You will provide leadership for systems currently fielded but undergoing major modifications and mission equipment updates
You will provide systems engineering and integration leadership for systems in initial phases of acquisition life cycle (pre-production)
You will be responsible for technical management of the acquisition and support of assigned systems
You will act as the systems engineering planning and management representative for assigned systems at program reviews, contract reviews, briefings, budget hearings, etc
You will be responsible for leading teams and mentoring junior personnel

This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (NM-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Providing overall management and technical direction of the assigned workforce, processes, and products; 2) Understanding of the interrelationships between Human Systems disciplines to effectively guide employee development and meet customer demand signals; 3) Ensuring effective planning, development, and execution of programs; 4) Demonstrating knowledge of Human Systems Integration policies, processes, tools, and procedures; 5) Demonstrating detailed knowledge related to systems engineering and integration; and 6) Utilizing project management/coordination policies, processes, procedures, and responsibilities
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics
Completed a degree with a major or equivalent in psychology for a specialization other than clinical or counseling psychology
Completed all the requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology
Completed 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or successfully completed all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology in an accredited educational institution
Degree: in one of the basic animal sciences or physiology; or a related discipline or field of science that included at least 24 semester hours in the basic animal sciences, of which 10 semester hours were in animal physiology
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics
B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering
