Responsibilities
Operating various types of automotive equipment on and off the grounds
Operating the passenger cars, trucks, vans, buses, and wheelchair-accessible transportation needed to transport residents on and off the facility’s grounds
Making local and long-distance pickup and delivery of materials, mail, supplies, drugs, blood samples, and other items
Hauling materials related to construction and maintenance work
Completing safety checks and inspections of vehicles
Performing minor repairs and maintenance
Performing department tasks when not operating vehicles and equipment such as loading and unloading vehicles, cleaning work areas, and maintaining records and logs of equipment use
Qualification
Required
Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
Ability to perform essential job functions
Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
Preferred
Completion of a course in truck driving and the operation and repair of construction equipment with a commercial technical school
