University of California, Riverside is seeking a Financial Analyst 3 to perform advanced financial and analytical functions for complex departmental and program budgets. Responsibilities
Independently performs advanced financial and analytical functions for complex departmental and program budgets
Oversees monthly ledger reconciliations and reporting for assigned departments
Manages multiple funding sources, including Contracts & Grants, state, gift, endowment, and fellowship funds
Assists managers in developing annual budgets while resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely processing of correcting entries
Provides financial support for CNAS student fellowships, scholarships, endowments, and GAANN grant activity
Coordinates reporting and transfers with CNAS Graduate Student Advising Center staff and the Dean’s Office
Supports post-award financial and compliance activities, including complex proposal budgets and sponsor reporting
Prepares, reviews, and approves financial transactions; monitors expenditures; conducts multi-source financial analyses
Coordinates Sales and Service fund activity; manages department budget allocations, chart of accounts, and related business processes
Independently gathers and synthesizes data, produces financial reports, assists Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs and Student Affairs units, and ensures compliance with UC, federal, and sponsor policies while maintaining accurate records
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
4-7 years of related experience

Takes ownership of assigned duties, independently guiding tasks to successful completion while proactively communicating issues or concerns to the Academic Resource Manager
Able to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy in all work

Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
Has ability to independently gather required information, organize, and perform financial analysis assignments
Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems
Understanding of Undergraduate and Graduate Student Funding within a university setting
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems
