Office Support Clerk Maintenance (DOH/NMVH #36568)

The New Mexico Department of Health is seeking an Office Support Clerk Maintenance to provide administrative and clerical support to the maintenance department at the New Mexico State Veterans' Home. This role is essential for supporting regulatory compliance and operational efficiency, ensuring a safe environment for veterans and residents.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Receives, logs, tracks, and closes maintenance work orders using the facility’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Schedules preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and vendor services in coordination with maintenance leadership
Maintains accurate and organized documentation related to CMS, VA, Joint Commission, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including life safety, environment of care, emergency preparedness, utilities management, and equipment maintenance records
Prepares departmental reports, compliance logs, inspection binders, and audit documentation
Serves as a liaison between nursing, administration, environmental services, vendors, and maintenance staff
Assists with purchasing, inventory tracking, and supply ordering for maintenance and plant operations
Maintains vendor files, service contracts, warranties, and work authorization documentation
Supports facility surveys, audits, and inspections by organizing records and providing requested documentation
Answers phones, routes messages, and greets visitors as appropriate
Assists with payroll timekeeping, staff scheduling documentation, and departmental correspondence
Performs other clerical and administrative duties as assigned

Required

Eighth grade education
Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment
Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training
Must sign and observe confidentiality agreement
Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
Occasional travel for training & meetings and driving a State of NM owned motor vehicle may be required
Working hours may include weekends, holidays, overtime, and callback hours
