Independent Design Program Director

Major Projects Group is seeking an independent Design Program Director to lead the integrated design delivery of a $1B+ Integrated Mobility Center program at a major U.S. international airport in Florida. This role requires a seasoned airport professional to provide executive-level leadership across various design governance aspects and ensure successful coordination with FAA and airport authorities.

Responsibilities

Program-wide design governance (architecture, civil, structural, MEP, systems, roadways, transit)
FAA, Airport Authority, and State DOT coordination
Design integration with construction phasing, GMP development, and early works
Resolution of complex landside and multimodal interfaces (parking, GTCs, rail/APM/LRT)
Design risk management in a live airport environment

Required

25+ years delivering major U.S. airport infrastructure projects
Proven leadership on $1B+ aviation programs
Direct experience with FAA, U.S. airport authorities, and CM@R delivery models
Strong background in landside airport infrastructure and multimodal hubs
Independent consultant/advisor (not tied to a prime design or construction firm)
Based in Florida or willing to relocate / maintain a regular on-site presence

Preferred

PE or RA licensure in the U.S. strongly preferred
