Visual Information Specialist - ONSITE - Fort Davis National Historic Site & Blackwell School National Historic Site
Environment for the Americas is seeking a Visual Information Specialist intern to enhance the public outreach and engagement for Fort Davis National Historic Site and Blackwell School National Historic Site. The role involves building website components, creating visual materials, and conducting community engagement activities.

Responsibilities
Build new components of the official park website, assisting in capturing video/photos for respective park sites at events or programs being offered, and updating park social media sites
Conduct community engagement and outreach
Support visual aspects of materials such as photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, and charts used in books, magazine, pamphlets, exhibits, live or video recorded speeches or lectures
Document planning and public input/outreach activities and be present during site visits with IMR Regional NPS Program leads and attend meetings with other NPS partners
Qualification
Required
Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
Be between the ages of 18 - 30 years or up to 35 years if a veteran
Be willing to undergo a background check upon hiring
Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Graduated with a BA or BS
Experience in social media and/or digital media
Interest in public communication
Ability to conduct presentations to the public, school students, and visitors
Skills in working in group settings, organizing tasks, and planning activities
Experienced with making websites, knowledge of computer science
Experience in public history that includes museum work, archives, and other types of scholarly applications
Preferred
Strengths in photography, digital design, and writing experience preferred
