Policy Analyst
The University of South Florida Libraries is seeking a Policy Analyst to support the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce's mission. The role involves conducting research, analyzing policy issues, and collaborating with colleagues to develop policy recommendations and evaluate enacted policies.

Responsibilities
Conduct independently initiated and team-requested in-depth research on state and federal health care, education, and workforce policy
Independently monitor and analyze public comments, bills, and other legislative initiatives and policies relevant to the work of the center
Collaborate in research examining implementation and effectiveness of relevant policies
Assist with translation of center research into policy recommendations
Independently and collaboratively prepare reports, presentations, and policy briefs
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., political science, law, public policy or public administration, health affairs)
2-3 years of demonstrated experience conducting policy research and analysis
Policy research and analysis, including interpretation of legislation, regulations, and policy proposals
Synthesis of multi-sourced data and translation of research and evidence into actionable policy insights and recommendations
Technical and legislative writing, including preparation of clear, accurate policy briefs, reports, and summaries for diverse audiences
Ability to synthesize complex policy information into clear, concise written and verbal briefings
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on significant matters
Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills; detail-oriented and proactive
Skilled in problem-solving and producing accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines
Advanced writing and editing skills with adaptable style
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred
Intermediate experience with policy development and/or management preferred
Working knowledge of Florida's legislative process and state policymaking structures, particularly in health, education, or workforce policy, preferred
