Responsibilities

Design electrical schematics and panel layouts using CAD software (Solidworks or AutoCAD Electrical)
Develop electrical BOMs and specify components such as PLCs, safety devices, and motion controllers
Perform electrical calculations including load analysis, wire sizing, and short-circuit ratings
Ensure control system designs comply with industry standards (NEC, NFPA, ANSI, RIA, UL)
Collaborate with assembly technicians and the panel shop to ensure design accuracy during builds
Support system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting in-house and at customer sites

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design for automation systems or control panels
Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.)
Working knowledge of PLCs, industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET), and motion control
Solid understanding of relevant codes such as NEC, NFPA 70/79, and UL508A
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
