Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a hardworking and motivated individual to join the Southwestern Veterans’ Center as a Maintenance Repairman 2. The role involves performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work.

Responsibilities

Perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment at the Southwestern Veterans’ Center
Repair doors and furniture
Operate power and hand tools
Install electrical circuits
Repair and install plumbing fixtures
Make repairs to heating lines
Perform masonry work in connection with buildings and walkways
Make repairs to roofs
Repair and paint surfaces
Maintain equipment and tools
Perform minor repairs to wheelchairs and other assistance equipment
Replace locks
Perform snow removal
Help with groundskeeping and landscaping
Coordinate with staff on the use of contractors

Required

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
You must be able to perform essential job functions

Preferred

Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades
Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment
