Staff Accountant
Navaide is a company dedicated to empowering organizations through innovative solutions. They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, maintain financial transaction accuracy, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Accounts Payable processes, including invoice submission, aging review, vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, organization setup, and preparation of 1099 forms for year-end reporting
Assist in Accounts Receivable operations by preparing invoices, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collections
Ensure AP/AR processes comply with internal controls, segregation-of-duties principles, and federal compliance standards
Import, review, and reconcile credit card transactions in Unanet; coordinate with cardholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy
Record and verify all banking transactions accurately and efficiently
Review and approve Travel & Expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and timely reimbursements; serve as a primary contact for employee travel inquiries and policy guidance
Perform General Ledger account reconciliations and support the month-end close process
Assist with state and local tax filings and submissions
Provide recurring analytical and administrative support to Human Resources on items such as utilization, time-off tracking, benefits reconciliation, charge code access, and budget monitoring
Support internal and external audits by compiling documentation and providing explanations as needed
Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively, with team-oriented mindset
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
2- 3 years of experience in AP/AR and cost accounting
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
Demonstrated experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting
Strong in Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal stakeholders
U.S. citizenship
Preferred
Proficiency in Unanet GovCon ERP
Federal Contractor experience
Prior experience in small to mid-size professional services or consulting firm
Knowledge on JTR Travel guidelines
Understanding of DCAA & FAR Audit and Compliance
Experience with indirect rate structures, cost pools, and allowable/unallowable costs
Location: San Diego headquarters or Arlington, VA (Hybrid role)
