InternIdara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) is offering a Kitab Gari Internship that provides a hands-on learning opportunity for motivated students or recent graduates passionate about literacy and community engagement. The intern will support the planning, implementation, and documentation of literacy activities across schools and communities in Karachi.

Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and execution of Kitab Gari literacy activities in line with project objectives
Support the coordination and logistics of book distribution to schools, libraries, and community centers
Accompany the team during field visits and provide on-ground support for activities
Support the organization of reading sessions, storytelling activities, and literacy events for children
Assist facilitators during storytelling and interactive reading sessions to encourage child participation
Engage with community members, teachers, and school staff to promote a positive reading culture
Help document program activities, including attendance records, field notes, and participant feedback
Support basic monitoring of activities and contribute to simple progress summaries
Assist in preparing short reports, presentations, and photo documentation for internal and external use
Support coordination with schools and partner organizations for scheduling visits and activities
Maintain clear communication with the project team regarding timelines, field plans, and assigned tasks
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Education, Economics, or a related discipline
Students with relevant coursework, volunteer experience, or demonstrated interest in literacy and community development are encouraged to apply
Strong interest in literacy, education, and community-based initiatives
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work under supervision
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines
Comfortable working in field-based settings with children and communities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
