Responsibilities
Develop and articulate a compelling vision and strategy for workforce development across Nuvance Health
Communicate the value proposition of workforce initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, including board members, executives, community leaders, and partners
Create persuasive business cases and presentations that demonstrate ROI and strategic impact
Serve as organizational spokesperson and thought leader on workforce development initiatives
Build executive-level consensus and secure C-suite buy-in for workforce strategies and investments
Oversee teams responsible for designing, implementing, and managing workforce pipeline programs
Set strategic direction, priorities, and performance metrics for workforce development teams
Build and mentor high-performing teams focused on workforce development
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Provide executive-level insights on workforce planning, talent gaps, and market dynamics
Lead the development of forward-thinking workforce strategies aligned with organizational goals and healthcare industry trends
Anticipate future workforce needs and proactively address emerging talent challenges
Drive cross-functional initiatives to ensure workforce readiness for evolving business demands
Monitor external trends and translate insights into actionable workforce strategies
Partner with the Nuvance Health Foundation team to identify grant opportunities and secure funding for workforce programs
Cultivate relationships with philanthropic organizations and donors to support workforce initiatives
Develop compelling grant proposals and donor presentations that articulate program impact
Ensure effective stewardship and reporting on funded initiatives to maintain donor confidence
Create and maintain strategic partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and workforce development agencies
Design programs that identify, attract, and develop diverse talent from local communities across the Nuvance Health service area
Establish early career pathways including internships, apprenticeships, and training programs
Build employer brand within target communities to strengthen talent pipelines
Identify opportunities to scale successful workforce programs across all Nuvance Health locations and service lines
Adapt and customize workforce strategies based on the unique needs of specific communities and targeted populations
Balance standardization with localization to ensure programs are both scalable and community-responsive
Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption across diverse markets
Ensure successful execution of workforce pipeline initiatives with measurable outcomes
Monitor program effectiveness through data analytics and adjust strategies accordingly
Manage budgets and resources to maximize impact and ROI
Report on program metrics, success stories, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and Board of Directors
Qualification
Required
15+ years of progressive executive experience in workforce development, talent acquisition, or strategic HR leadership within healthcare or complex multi-site organizations
10+ years of senior leadership experience managing managers and leading large teams
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful system-wide workforce strategies
Demonstrated success in securing executive buy-in and driving organizational change at the highest levels
Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or working with foundation teams to secure funding
Strong understanding of talent pipeline development and community engagement
Excellence in strategic thinking, executive communication, and data-driven decision making
Preferred
Healthcare workforce development experience, particularly in addressing clinical talent shortages
Established relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and philanthropic entities
Experience scaling programs across multiple geographic markets with diverse community needs
Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Track record of successful grant acquisition and donor relationship management
