Responsibilities
Serves as a lead technical expert in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex network architectures for C2ISR SATCOM Transport Systems, ensuring high resilience, security, and performance
Maps architectures using DEF models, data flows, and interfaces and leads the architectural design and deployment strategies for highly scalable and secure SATCOM network segments, incorporating advanced routing protocols, multi-domain network segmentation, and secure data paths for C2ISR mission data across various classification levels
Architects and oversees the integration of diverse SATCOM technologies (e.g., GEO, MEO, LEO, commercial/military SATCOM) into a unified C2ISR communication infrastructure, defining interoperability standards, network interfaces, and high-level configuration management
Conducts expert-level network architectural analysis for SATCOM systems, focusing on throughput optimization, latency reduction, and resilience against environmental or adversarial effects (e.g., rain fade, jamming) using advanced network modeling and simulation tools
Develops and champions advanced network architectural solutions to address complex SATCOM communication challenges, such as implementing Software-Defined Networking (SDN) principles for dynamic bandwidth allocation or designing secure cross-domain solutions directly over SATCOM links
Drives the maintenance and modernization strategies for SATCOM assets and ground-based gateways, including evaluating new modem technologies, waveform enhancements, network management systems architectures, and their integration into the C2ISR enterprise
Qualification
Required
Previous experience as a SATCOM Specialist or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level
Minimum of 5 years' experience with BS/BA, or 3 years' experience with MS/MA, or 1 years' experience with PhD. OR 9 years without a degree OR 7 years with AS/AA
A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
US citizenship is required
DOD 8140 Compliance based on functional role for WRC: 441 Network Operations Specialist, Intermediate Level/ ability to obtain
Preferred
DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment
Minimum of 8 years' experience with BS/BA, or 6 years' experience with MS/MA, or 3 years' experience with PhD. OR 12 years without a degree OR 10 years with AS/AA
