Lead generator mechanical engineer (Hydroelectric industry)
GE Vernova is a purpose-built company leading a new era of energy focused on decarbonization. The Lead Generator Mechanical Engineer will design hydro generator mechanical components and provide technical support for supply chain and site activities related to hydro generators.

Responsibilities
Deliver design work packages for hydro generator projects using technical guidelines and reference projects
Collaborate with other engineering COEs (Center Of Excellence) worldwide
Participate to & lead design review meetings with other engineers, functions and consulting Engineers
Supervise the work of design engineers and draftsmen to Deliver design calculations, technical specifications, drawings and BOM’s
Provide technical support to supply chain and site teams during the entire lifecycle of the generator components
Apply rules and concepts for reliability, quality, safety and cost
Collaborate with and assist project engineering managers in project execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college
Strong skills in strength of materials
Good knowledge of non-destructive examinations methods, materials and welding
Minimum of 5 years' experience in generator mechanical design (stators, rotors, bearings, brackets)
Pro-activeness, sense of urgency, autonomy
Established communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment
Good analytical skills
Team player, positive, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in their state, or eligible to become licensed in the short term
Willingness and availability to occasionally travel in North America
Preferred
Knowledge of CAD tools
Experience in hydro industry
