Responsibilities

Support the mission, vision, and goals of the organization through continuous quality improvement
Develop a quality improvement strategy that aligns with UCR Health organizational goals
Advance quality, safety, and continuous improvement through direct engagement with frontline staff, physicians, operational, and informatics leaders
Foster a culture of improvement and shared accountability across teams, departments, and business units
Develop detailed plans to identify and address quality gaps and achieve quality improvement goals for each measure
Use data to drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor trends
Implement a quality improvement platform including the Model for Improvement and LEAN methods
Support workflow and process redesign, and engagement of providers and staff to implement evidence-based and best practice approaches
Provide education, training, and support to providers and staff, including at-the-elbow real-time support
Support the development of quality champions and leaders within the organization
Create momentum, energy, and shared enthusiasm for quality improvement across the organization

Required

Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
6 - 10 years of related experience
Demonstrated prior experience in building trusted, collaborative, and supportive relationships with physicians, staff, and operational leaders
Demonstrated prior experience in providing at-the-elbow, frontline, on the ground support to care teams at point of care
Two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a quality program
Advanced knowledge of various administrative and business software packages, and of the specialized applications for quality data management
In-depth knowledge of QI models, tools, and techniques, including collection, abstraction, validation, analysis, reporting of data, and use of performance and benchmark indicators
Advanced ability to effectively convey complex clinical, technical, and educational information both verbally and in writing, and to produce high quality reports, documentation, and presentations
In-depth knowledge of QI standards, clinical chart review and abstraction, and regulatory requirements
Advanced skills to influence and persuade staff, management, and clinicians at all levels and across departments
Ability to build trusting, collaborative, and supportive relationships with physicians, staff, operational leaders, and cross-departmental and cross-functional teams
Advanced organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule
Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills to manage multiple levels of highly-complex information and responsibilities, to quickly assess problems, and to develop and implement timely and effective solutions
Proficient in Microsoft, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Knowledge of ambulatory quality measures including NCQA/HEDIS, and MIPS measures
Advanced interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of clinical and administrative staff internally and externally

Preferred

Experience working with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic
Prior experience with data analytics for quality improvement
Six years of experience in a quality improvement role within a clinical, ambulatory setting
Prior experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple key partners across the organization and externally
Experience in designing, and using quality dashboards in electronic health record systems, and reporting dashboard tools such as Tableau, and PowerBI
Knowledge of health care policy, regulations, licensing and accreditation standards, and compliance related to quality. Assess compliance with regulations and standards
Knowledge and/or experience of Quality Improvement models, tools, and techniques including Model for Improvement methodology and LEAN
