Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plans
Prepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)
Work with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responses
Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performance
Utilize requirements management software and systems engineering tool such as DOORS, Cradle or Jama
Create and manage requirements for various projects - including flow down from NASA Program to contractor Project through verification closeout as well as interface definition between subsystems
Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and raise issues
Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information
Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering
Must have 2+ years of recent and related work experience
Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes
Knowledge and work experience in a Systems Engineering role in a NASA, DoD, or Aerospace environment
Experience with requirements management, verification and validation definition and execution, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware
Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS

Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers
Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives
Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical
Preferred
Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, material selection, and design software and tools
Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines
Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering software products
Experience in technical or team leadership roles
