Lab Technician-2nd shift

Buck Company LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Technician to become a key member of their team in Quarryville, PA. This role is crucial in supporting manufacturing operations by performing analytical testing and maintaining quality documentation.

Responsibilities

Preparation of metal samples (cutting, grinding, polishing) for various tests
Operate and maintain Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES) and other analytical equipment to determine the chemical composition of raw materials and finished castings
Conduct routine maintenance and calibration checks on all lab equipment to ensure accuracy
Execute Tensile and Hardness Tests (e.g., Brinell, Rockwell) on cast metal samples to confirm mechanical properties meet specifications
Record, analyze, and interpret test results, promptly reporting any deviations or non-conformances to the Quality and Production teams
Perform microscopic evaluation of metal structure to assess nodularity, structure, porosity, and inclusion levels
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests, analyses, and material certifications
Assist in maintaining the laboratory's quality management system, adhering to ISO 9001 standards and internal safety protocols
Support problem-solving initiatives related to material quality and process control

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong math and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical specifications and data

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
