Responsibilities

Within defined corporate narratives and in partnership with senior Team Members, support the development of clear pillars for a core set of Executives, positioning them internally and externally as trusted voices for Southwest. Ensure alignment between Executive messages and broader enterprise priorities
Contribute to Executive communication plans that connect business priorities to key audiences, partnering with other Communications Teams to identify opportunities to position Executives across internal, external, and stakeholder channels
Develop and deliver high-quality materials—including talking points, scripts, remarks, event prep, and speeches—that equip Executives to communicate with clarity and consistency across multiple platforms
Advise and collaborate with Executives and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment between Executive messages and enterprise communications strategies, providing recommendations that strengthen clarity and engagement
Leverage data, engagement metrics, and feedback to assess and refine Executive communication strategies, ensuring messages drive understanding and support business objectives
Support Executive communication during moments of change or challenge, advising on tone, timing, and message alignment in coordination with senior Team Members and cross-functional partners
Collaborate and share best practices across the Executive Communications Team; coach peers on writing and delivery techniques that strengthen Executive presence and impact

Required

Knowledge of Executive and strategic communications, with demonstrated ability to develop and execute communication plans that support business and enterprise priorities
Skilled in writing, editing, and storytelling
Skilled in Microsoft Office and communication platforms
Skilled in collaboration and relationship-building, with the ability to partner effectively across Teams to ensure alignment and message consistency
Skilled in message development and delivery support, including talking points, speeches, and event preparation tailored to Executive voice and audience
Ability to translate complex topics into clear, authentic, and engaging messages for diverse audiences
Ability to provide strategic communication counsel to Executives and cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment with corporate narratives and organizational goals
Ability to use sound judgment and adaptability under pressure, with the ability to support communication strategies during moments of change or challenge
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in Internal or Executive communications, including strategy development, writing, and delivery for senior audiences
Managing multiple projects or programs simultaneously
Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be willing to travel for work as needed
Must be willing to work outside of 8-5 hours as needed depending on the needs of the business
Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive Company information
May have air travel with overnight stays as required by role
