Senior Underwriting Associate
Alcor Insurance Services LLC is a dynamic and emerging player within the property insurance services landscape, operating across multiple U.S. states. The Senior Underwriting Associate provides direct support across the full spectrum of underwriting and policy administration, focusing on commercial property and Excess & Surplus underwriting processes.

Responsibilities
Work with Business Process Offshore team to support the policy administration life cycle
Mentor, train and develop junior underwriting associates
Oversee clearance and intake of all new submissions; validate for completeness and eligibility
Set up and maintain underwriting files, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the underwriting cycle
Communicate with brokers regarding missing information, subjectivities, and coverage details
Review and process bind orders; evaluate binding conditions based on incoming information
Manage legal notices: Conditional Renewals, Non‑Renewals, and Cancellations
Issue new and renewal policies, including those written on primary and excess commercial property forms
Process endorsements, determine appropriate wording, calculate additional premiums, and communicate results to brokers
Support excess property underwriting functions by:
Assisting with risk acceptability reviews under underwriter guidance
Preparing rating inputs and documentation for excess layer pricing
Maintaining awareness of E&S market dynamics and property capacity considerations
Analyze internal reports and third‑party documentation for accuracy and adherence to binding requirements
Prepare renewal materials, loss summaries, and underwriting documentation
Coordinate inspection orders, track subjectivities, and ensure timely satisfaction
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Foundational understanding of commercial insurance operations
5 years prior experience working for Wholesale Broker, Carrier, or MGA
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat
Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and underwriting platforms
Strong organizational discipline with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Customer‑service mindset for both brokers and internal partners
Strong foundational understanding of insurance principles
Analytical problem‑solving capability and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional business partners in a fast‑paced underwriting environment
Basic knowledge of commercial property risk factors (construction, protection, occupancy, hazard assessment)
Preferred
Insurance designations (AINS, CPCU, APA, or similar)
Experience or coursework in commercial property insurance, including property valuation and CAT exposure fundamentals
Exposure to E&S / Excess Property underwriting, including familiarity with layered property structures and broker‑driven E&S workflows
Strong analytical, communication, and technical skills aligned with underwriting support roles
