Responsibilities
Rational design and synthesis of novel brain-targeting therapeutic agents
Characterization of novel molecules using necessary physicochemical means including NMR MS UV-vis etc
Development of analytical methods for determination of newly synthesized molecules various drugs drug candidates metabolites and biomarkers in various biological matrices employing LC-MS/MS techniques
Performing biochemical characterization of various molecules
Manuscript preparation and publishing
Supervision and training of laboratory supporting research staff
Preparation and delivery of research presentations at local meetings national and international conferences
General operation maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
Preparation and maintenance of required laboratory safety documentation and adherence to the guidelines and regulations
Qualification
Required
Ph.D., post-baccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor and Laboratory or clinical research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study, upon hire
The candidate should have a strong background in chemical/pharmaceutical sciences with a reasonable working knowledge of translational research
The candidate should be able to work well in highly collaborative environment and have excellent communication skills
Preferred
Experience in organic synthesis bioanalysis medicinal or pharmaceutical chemistry areas
Experience with rational drug design and development physicochemical characterization
Experience with UHPLC or LCMS-based assay development
Good organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team
Doctorate Of Science in a relevant field of endeavor and beyond minimum required, experience writing research reports concerning own work and familiarity with a biomedical discipline
