Responsibilities
Verify accuracy of billing forms and enter required data into appropriate databases
Review billing inquiries for completeness and accuracy, including CPT and ICD-9 coding, physician information, insurance coverage, TOA, and related data
Prepare and submit documentation required for account inquiry resolution
Maintain detailed records of billing inquiries and generate reports and summaries as needed
Investigate and resolve billing denials using established protocols
Communicate with patients, providers, and internal teams regarding open accounts, incorrect information, and payment arrangements
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2–3 years of medical billing experience, including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement
Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
Proven ability to accurately record and manage financial data
Preferred
Accounting and/or financial reporting experience
Prior supervisory experience
