Medical Laboratory Scientist
LanceSoft, Inc. is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their healthcare team. The role involves following laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and analysis while ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and quality control policies.

Responsibilities
Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintenance of patient test records
Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens and maintain appropriate documentation
Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures in accordance with department SOPs
Review, verify, and release test results
Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all laboratory safety guidelines
Adhere to quality control policies, document QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance
Follow established policies and procedures when test systems fall outside acceptable performance levels
Identify issues affecting test performance or result reporting and correct them or notify senior technologist/supervisor immediately
Document all corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications
Report STAT and critical results according to departmental procedures
Respond to inquiries from clients, customers, or laboratory personnel as needed
Maintain complete and accurate records of all on-site testing performed
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the department
Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled with received, opened (if applicable), and expiration dates
Review, train on, and implement new laboratory procedures
Attend monthly department meetings and additional training or educational sessions
Participate in all required safety training; maintain knowledge of safety manuals and equipment locations
Support government or regulatory inspections as required
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualification

Strong understanding of basic and high-complexity laboratory testing
Knowledge of Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) practices
Proficiency with laboratory computer systems and adaptability to multiple platforms
Familiarity with all functional areas of the laboratory
Bachelor's degree in medical technology (preferred), or
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology, or
Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or
Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (March 14, 1990)
Foreign-educated candidates must provide a credential evaluation from IERF
U.S.-educated candidates must provide original official transcripts
National certification as MT / MLT (ASCP or AMT) required or eligible
Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
For BS/BA Chemistry or Biology candidates: minimum 1 year of high-complexity clinical lab experience required
National and state licensure as required
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple procedures simultaneously
Ability to interact and collaborate with other departments
Strong customer service skills: client interaction may be required
Commitment to maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times
Preferred
High-complexity testing experience preferred
