Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain Roku applications using BrightScript, SceneGraph, and related technologies
Own the Roku development lifecycle from initial concept through App Store release and ongoing updates
Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate implementations
Build and maintain custom components within an SDK-driven environment
Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver features on time
Communicate effectively across development, QA, and operational teams
Write and maintain unit tests to ensure robustness, reliability, and usability
Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications and systems
Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident management when required
Stay current with industry trends and advocate for front-end and Roku platform best practices
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of commercial Roku development experience
Strong proficiency in BrightScript and modern Roku technologies
Experience working with SDKs (Roku or otherwise)
Experience working in multi-developer Roku environments, including build creation, submission, and deployment to the Roku Channel Store
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or platform-specific build and tooling workflows
Experience building extensible, data-driven Roku applications
Proven ability to integrate with APIs using REST, JSON-RPC, gRPC, or similar protocols
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Solid understanding of monitoring, alerting, code coverage, and integration testing
Awareness of the broader OTT/streaming landscape, with an interest in modern development approaches and emerging trends
Preferred
Familiarity with tools such as Charles Proxy is a plus
