Responsibilities
Plan, construct, alter, and repair a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
Perform development work and difficult tool room machine operations
Ensure proper tool, die, and mold assembly
Conduct tool tryouts and diagnose any problems
Work independently on complex dies and molds for new products
Receive routed prints or sketches, perform necessary calculations
Use proper materials, tools, and procedures for repairing or making dies
Grind, dress, and heat treat tools, jigs, and fixtures as needed
Assemble finished dies and conduct press trials
Adjust dies to produce desired parts within specified tolerances
Make gauges, tools, and machine parts to exact tolerances
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in CNC, MILL, and LATHE operations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Experience in tool and die making and machining
Capability to work independently and solve complex problems
Preferred
Experience in inspecting, checking, and trying out dies made externally
