Responsibilities
Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and adoption proceedings
Conduct investigations, discovery, negotiations, hearings, and trials
Develop and execute effective legal strategies tailored to each client’s objectives
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear guidance and consistent communication
Draft, review, and manage pleadings, motions, agreements, and settlement documents
Oversee and mentor associates and paralegals on active matters
Utilize firm resources and legal technology for efficient case and time management
Stay current on developments in family law and fulfill CLE requirements
Maintain accurate time records and comprehensive case documentation
Qualification
Required
Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing
Minimum of 5 years of family law experience, including at least 10 trials
Certified Divorce Specialist™ or willingness to obtain certification
Completion of, or willingness to complete, mediation or Collaborative Divorce training
Strong negotiation, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills
Exceptional communication abilities and client relationship skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw/LexisNexis, and Google Workspace
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, advocacy, and negotiation abilities
Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case strategy development
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Preferred
Familiarity with CLIO Grow, CLIO Manage, and family law-specific software
