Tax Quality & Risk Managing Director

The Tax Quality & Risk Managing Director will identify the impact of new tax developments and collaborate with tax professionals to deliver effective tax solutions while managing tax risk across various areas of tax law and practice.

Responsibilities
Strong ability to quickly understand, critically examine, and evaluate complex tax positions and matters, including issue spotting, research skills, evaluation, weighing and levels of authority, common law judicial doctrines, supporting documentation, and written and oral tax advice
Strong or solid understanding of concepts relevant to federal or state tax enforcement, including audits, appeals, tax litigation, summonses, statutes of limitation, and penalties
Strong understanding of legal concepts relevant to tax professional services risk and liability, including contracts, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, malpractice claims and litigation, civil practice and procedure, and discovery
Ability to serve in the role and manage tax risk across a wide range of areas of tax law and practice, and areas applicable to all tax practice
Support Tax Practice strategy and growth, and close collaboration with Tax Leadership, Tax Solutions, legal and other firm functions, and the global platform
Leading and collaborating with SMEs to develop and deliver tax solutions
Acting as a consultant on internal matters and engagements as needed
Communicating effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure understanding and compliance
Providing thought leadership and staying updated on industry trends and legislative changes

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
A minimum of 13 plus years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing clients at a national level
CPA or JD required
Prior experience in practice and team development is required
Strong analytical skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel as needed. Expect 30% travel
