Coconino County is seeking a Regulatory Specialist to support Health and Human Services Regulatory Programs. The role involves reviewing and accepting commercial project applications, assisting the public with licensing, and maintaining departmental records and databases.

Responsibilities

Provide initial review of commercial license/permit applications for completeness, work with licensees/permittees to ensure completeness, provide instructions on how to set up an account and complete the license/permit process, and assign to plan reviewer when completed
Use software to create application deficiency lists and provide guidance for submission of complete applications
Research previous licensing/permitting, license/permit history, fulfill public records requests, etc
Review submittals for conformance to ordinances and related codes
Coordinate remaining review timeframes with reviewing entities
Issue licenses/permits for which plan review has been completed
Run reports from the license/permit tracking system on a daily or weekly basis
Receive license/permit fee payments
Reconcile weekly deposits, which include checks, cash, and credit cards
Scan plan submittals for electronic plan review and long-term storage
Issue special event permits
Take detailed complaints from the public and assign to the proper inspector
Prepare required reports for state and federal agencies
Maintain department database and records
Communicate department information to the public, partners, and County staff
Provide quality assurance for all manner of data tracked by the department
Maintain working relationships with outside agencies and other County departments
Train employees and interns
Perform related duties as assigned

Required

High School diploma or GED
Three years of professional level technical or administrative experience in assisting with the submission/processing of online applications, analyzing data and billing inconsistencies, troubleshooting and resolving problems associated with software
Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment
Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office 365 and Excel
