Qualification
Required
US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience; PhD and 4 years of relevant experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
The ideal candidate should have a broad operational and design engineering knowledge of A1B and A4W propulsion plants
Understanding of planning yard and In-Service Engineering Agent operations
Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience is greatly desired
Clearance Required: Yes- Final Clearance Required to Start
Travel Requirement: Yes, 10%-25% of the time
Preferred
Experience with A4W and /or A1B propulsion plant engineering or design
Experience managing a major update or change to a new construction CVN or an upgrade to a fleet CVN
Experience working with NNL, BPMI, NAVSEA and Naval Reactors
Experience dealing with lifecycle support of major systems or components
