5+ years expVeptos is seeking a Senior 3D CAD Modeler to join their engineering team on-site in Texas for approximately 2 months. This hands-on role focuses on converting real-world vehicle scans into production-ready CAD for automotive and defense applications, working closely with physical vehicles and engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Convert 3D scan data (Creality Raptor Pro) into clean, watertight CAD models
Merge and align multi-section scan files into unified assemblies
Generate Class A / Class B surfaces and solid models suitable for manufacturing
Create CAD for exterior panels, interior components, brackets, mounts, and structural elements
Work closely with engineering and fabrication teams to resolve fitment and tolerance issues
Prepare CAD files for CNC machining, 3D printing, and tooling
Maintain strict version control and documentation standards
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional 3D CAD modeling experience (automotive, aerospace, defense, or industrial)
Strong proficiency in Fusion 360
Demonstrated experience working from raw scan data
High competency in surfacing, solid modeling, and assembly design
Ability to work quickly without sacrificing precision
Comfortable working on-site in a fast-moving shop environment
Preferred
Automotive body, chassis, or interior design experience
Experience with reverse engineering legacy vehicles
Familiarity with CloudCompare and Geomagic
Understanding of manufacturing constraints and tolerancing
