Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day and monthly bookkeeping/monthly closes for several clients simultaneously
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation using advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
See work through transaction review to finalized financial statements
Prepare balance sheets, P&Ls, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
Identify discrepancies, research issues, and correct errors thoroughly
Track billable time and work within firm expectations
Support year-end processes including W-2s, 1099s, and tax prep support
Process payroll and assist with AP/AR
File payroll tax, sales tax, and information returns
Communicate clearly with clients and help them understand their numbers
Follow established SOPs, help create new/update SOP’s and contribute to improving processes when appropriate
Handle payroll processing, tax preparation support, and ensure timely payment of invoices while maintaining meticulous records
Qualification
Required
3+ years of public accounting or CAS firm experience (required); please note candidates not meeting this requirement will not be considered
Experience working on multiple client accounts simultaneously
Comfortable in a billable-hours environment with the ability to meet charge goal metrics
Strong preference for accuracy, documentation, and reconciliation discipline
Advanced QuickBooks Online skills; with the desire to become certified
Solid understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping best practices
Organized, dependable, and detail-driven
Preferred
CPA or progress toward CPA
Experience with cloud-based accounting tools
Comfortable using AI tools to support accuracy and efficiency
