Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and executing strategies for licensing and partnering deals to deliver strong business results for company goals
Identify, evaluate and transact BD opportunities as well as expand brand presence globally
Present scientific and business rationale for any transactions proposals to senior management
Work closely with the senior management team, help formulate the vision, strategy, business plan necessary to pursue major strategic deals and partnerships
Involve in the initiation and assessment of all business arrangement the company might consider, such as BD licensing arrangements, M&A, joint ventures and strategic alliances
Deal sourcing, deal evaluation, due diligence and transaction execution associated with out-licensing efforts
Represent the company externally, including, but not limited to, partnering and investor conferences; help lead and maintain strong relationships with financial and business community

Required

A PhD in life science is preferred; experience from consulting firm would be a plus
At least 20 years of international business development experience with global multinational pharmaceutical companies deal evaluation is highly preferred
Proven track records of identifying, evaluating and successfully negotiating significant business transactions, oncology focus is a plus
In depth knowledge of science of early drug discovery, pipeline and portfolio valuation and techniques of financial analysis as necessary to engineer such deals
Business and corporate development contacts and skills in order to reach key executives in companies that are likely prospects for strategic partnerships or other collaborations
Proven ability to establish and maintain credibility with internal and external scientific and business experts
Strong scientific orientation – deep understanding of the drug development, approval and commercialization processes
Passionate and self-motivated to drive deals to a successful conclusion and to deliver quality results
Strong executive presence, results orientation, and the ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to make sound business judgments and evaluate alternatives
