Chief Title Officer

The Theodoros Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Title Officer to join their team. In this role, you will manage title operations, ensure the accuracy of title documents, and protect the integrity of real estate transactions while building strong relationships with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive title searches and examinations on properties to uncover potential issues or discrepancies
Review property records, historical documents, liens, encumbrances, and easements to determine ownership and title status
Prepare detailed title reports and commitments, providing accurate assessments of ownership and encumbrances
Collaborate with escrow officers, lenders, attorneys, and other key stakeholders to resolve title-related issues in real estate transactions
Identify and address potential risks that could affect the issuance of title policies
Issue title insurance policies after ensuring all criteria for coverage are met
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company standards and procedures
Assist with clearing title conditions, including judgments, tax liens, boundary disputes, or other encumbrances found during the examination process
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and educating clients on title-related issues
Stay informed about industry changes, regulations, and best practices

Required

Previous experience in title examination, underwriting, or a related field within the real estate industry
Strong knowledge of title insurance principles, real estate documentation, and applicable laws and regulations
Proficiency in title software and tools used for research and documentation
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Certification or licensure as required by state laws (if applicable)
High school diploma or equivalent required
