Director of Development

Career Apprenticeship and Mentorship Program (C.A.M.P.) is a professional training and development program focused on serving at-risk and underserved students. The Development Director will lead all fundraising efforts, manage donor relations, and oversee grant applications to secure financial resources for the organization's mission.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Organize and lead volunteers for our annual gala event in September, which will include all event details: announcements, promotions, invitations, and thank you letters. Coordinate and lead a team of 10-15 volunteers
Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to meet or exceed financial goals. Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to align fundraising initiatives with overall organizational strategy
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major donors and prospects. Build and maintain long-term, trusting relationships through personalized outreach and consistent communication regarding the impact of their contributions
Lead the grant seeking process, including research, proposal writing, submission, and reporting requirements for foundations and government sources
Work with the marketing/communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, including newsletters, website, annual reports, and social media content, to promote the organization's mission and attract new donors
Manage and maintain the donor database (CRM system) to ensure accurate gift processing, tracking, and reporting of all fundraising progress to the Executive Director and Board

Required

A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in nonprofit fundraising or a development role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to serve as an engaging ambassador for the organization and inspire potential donors
Strong ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, from staff and volunteers to major donors and community leaders
Experience with donor management software and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Network for Good)
Strong aptitude for strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and as a team player
