Strategic Development Manager

Responsibilities

Strategic Outreach & Relationship Development
Identify and engage self-managed multifamily and affordable housing operators
Build and maintain a personal book of high-authority relationships
Execute precise, relevance-driven outbound (not mass outreach)
Nurture long-cycle conversations with senior decision-makers
Buyer Education & Qualification
Lead discovery and qualification conversations
Educate prospects on:
Why traditional vendor coordination fails
How enforcement and accountability reduce operational risk
Enforce non-negotiables:
Centralized decision authority
Willingness to delegate execution control
Alignment with pricing and margin guardrails
Disqualify prospects who are not a fit — confidently and professionally
Deal Advancement & Internal Alignment
Advance only qualified, aligned opportunities
Coordinate with the Estimator / Proposal Lead on scope and pricing
Set clear expectations around:
What Vantage Group owns
What the client no longer manages
How escalation and enforcement work
Ensure clean handoff to Operations with zero ambiguity
Relationship Stewardship
Maintain executive-level relationships post-close
Monitor for early signs of misalignment or authority drift
Escalate risks proactively to protect long-term success

Qualification

Required

Senior, consultative sales or business development experience
Comfortable engaging owners, principals, and executive operators

Preferred

Experience in real estate, multifamily, facilities, or complex services is a plus
