Responsibilities
Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues under the guidance of senior engineers
Participate in routine network maintenance tasks, such as firmware updates and patch management
Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents
Document standard operating procedures and contribute to knowledge base articles
Support the implementation of network security measures, including access controls and firewall rules
Assist in monitoring for security breaches and respond to incidents as directed
Work closely with senior network engineers to develop technical skills and understanding of best practices
Engage in training opportunities and stay current with emerging networking technologies
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support network-related issues outside regular business hours
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
0–2 years of experience in network engineering or a related role
Basic understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
Familiarity with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls
Exposure to network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred
