Responsibilities

Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Domestic makes and models
Performing thorough inspections on vehicles to assess service and repair needs based on mileage and condition
Documenting diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and recommendations clearly and accurately
Performing quality-control checks to ensure repairs meet OEM standards
Communicating findings with service advisors and customers when needed
Upholding shop standards for cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency
Wearing ANSI Z87.1+ impact-rated safety glasses at all times
Using prescription safety glasses or approved safety eyewear if corrective lenses are needed
Wearing safety footwear (slip-resistant, impact-rated)
Using gloves appropriate to the task (chemical, cut-resistant, heat)
Following all OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures
Using lockout/tagout when working on electrical systems or high-voltage components
Lifting vehicles using certified lift points; inspecting lift arms and safety locks before elevating a vehicle
Handling batteries, chemicals, coolants, and oils according to safety standards
Keeping work areas clean and free of trip hazards, oil spills, and debris
Using proper ventilation when working with exhaust, fumes, solvents, or adhesives
Reporting any hazards, malfunctioning tools, or unsafe conditions immediately
Inspecting tools daily and reporting or tagging out damaged equipment
Operating scan tools, lifts, alignment machines, and specialty equipment only if trained
Following manufacturer instructions for airbag systems, high-voltage components, and ADAS systems

Required

Advanced knowledge of automotive systems and operations
Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle issues using diagnostic tools, performing tests, and identifying necessary repairs
Skilled in performing a variety of mechanical repairs and services, including removal and reinstallation of parts, and completing service procedures
Ability to perform thorough inspections on vehicles to assess service and repair needs based on mileage and condition
Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
Can work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
Positive attitude and a customer service mindset
Proficiency in using computers and diagnostic tools for vehicle diagnostics, accessing repair instructions, and using customer management software
Capable of lifting up to 50lbs without assistance
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 60 minutes at a time)
Basic math and counting skills for performing repair estimates and parts ordering
Proficient in performing both fine and major motor skills to complete repairs, vehicle inspections, and shop duties, including reaching overhead, bending, stooping, and other physical tasks
Maintain knowledge of manufacturer bulletins, recalls, and updates
Document diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and recommendations clearly and accurately
Perform quality-control checks to ensure repairs meet OEM standards
Communicate findings with service advisors and customers when needed
Uphold shop standards for cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces
Bend, twist, kneel, climb, and stand for long periods
